16 Nov - 2 weeks old!

It is hard to believe that two weeks ago today we were in the hospital having two precious babies.  It isn't until now that we understand what it really means to have time fly.  We visited Becca & Tyler for their bathes and weigh-ins.  Good news to report - they are both gaining weight.  Becca weighed 3lbs 3.4oz and is 19.5 inches.  Tyler weighed in at 3lbs 4oz and is 18.5 inches.  Tyler wins the chunky award and Ms. Becca wins the long leg award.

We spent 2 1/2 hours with them, it was mommy's turn to hold them both.  They slept like a rock next to each other.  Once they woke up, we got to give them their first swaddle baths.  Basically, you wrap them up in a blanket and set them in a tub of warm water (of course it helps to take Tyler's diaper off first mommy), then rub them with their blanket.  They both liked it until it was time to take them out....then they both cried (Becca like we've never seen before).  That girls got some lungs.  Praise God they are working so well!

They seemed to be doing well as far as any updates.  The doctor increased Becca's calorie intake a bit.  I guess they want her chunky like her brother (all 3 1/2 pounds of them).  They continue to lower the temperature in their isolettes.  They seem to be doing well with that thankfully.  They were ar 30 degrees C last night.  They need to get to 27.  Just a few days ago, they were at 35 degrees, so they are on the right track.

We got to visit a friends son at the hospital who was going through some cancer treatment for the night.  We also enjoyed a chocolate frosty's from Wendy's in his honor.

Finally, all the projects at the house are complete!  At 5:30 am (11/17), I finally got to lay down for a couple hours of sleep.  Nicky was a slacker...she only made it to 3:30 am.  Thankfully we can relax now for my last couple days home before I head back to work.

photos to come...
