11 Dec - and waiting.....

Another day of waiting and praying Tyler and Rebecca will come home soon.  We had originally hoped they would be coming home by this weekend, however there isn't any indication that will happen yet.  A few bits of progress today though.  The amount they eat at each feeding was bumped up, which is a good thing, since they are growing and digesting all of their food.

Thursday night, I (Tim) was there for their bath time, feeding and weighing.  It was a busy evening but all went pretty well.  I had a minor set-back with Tyler since he had a couple of blue moments while I was feeding him, which hadn't happened in awhile.  Thankfully the apnea happened during feeding, so at least there was an "explained" reason why is happened.  That will just reinforce the need for him to come home on a monitor unfortunately.  For their weigh-ins, Tyler gained a ton.  He is up to 5 lbs, 1 oz.  Rebecca is at 5 lbs, 3 ozs.  She didn't gain as much, but she is exactly on track where she needs to be.

Today (Friday) mom spent lots of time at the hospital to be able to do multiple feedings.  She was there early to be able to console Tyler.  He had a little boy procedure done, which was very painful I'm sure.  Thankfully mommy was able to make him feel better.  As far as Becca, she passed her Car Seat Challenge, just one more hurdle to coming home.  We are now pretty convinced she will be home first....who knows when that will be though.  Surely, Tyler will be home right behind her, which is when the real work will begin.  As little sleep as we have had during the past six weeks (while they have had full time babysitters), it will be interesting here at the Long household, how everything is going to pan out.  I'm sure it will be extremely rewarding, while at the same time be just a bit exhausting.  Nicky and I are looking forward to the challenge....and mid-day naps.

On the homefront, things are going very well.  We are attempting to finish getting the Chirstmas decorations up.  Nicky's mom will be arriving tomorrow evening from New York for a couple of weeks.  We are looking forward to her arrival and help once our bundles of joy arrive home.

Nicholas has been doing great.  Thankfully he seems to be getting more and more excited to finally meet his baby brother and sister.  He prays for them every night, to hurry and come home.  Last night, he offered to give up his allowance to be able to better help take care of them.  Wow!  We were so impressed with his generosity and extremly  proud of him and his heart.  For that, I think we need to double his allowance.  :-)  A couple days ago, out of the blue, he offered to clean all of the counters and door handles in the house with clorox bleach so everything would be really clean when they came home.  We are so blessed to have such a loving, caring young man as a son and big brother.

Thank you Jen & Chester for bringing over some delicious chili last night.  It hit the spot.  We are also so appreciative to Deb & Anthony for all that they do for us on a daily basis.  We don't know how we would do it without you guys.  It always seems like as the workload gets to be too much, we are blessed by someone stepping in to help at exactly the right moment.  We truly appreciate the help we've gotten so far from everyone and the wonderful meals.  We are truly a blessed family and pray that each and every one of you are blessed for your kindness.

We love you guys,
Tim, Nicky, Nicholas, Becca & Tyler
